Independence Day
As I start to prepare for the 4th of July in Texas, I am reminded of the ones who have gone on before us who have made this day possible. I am not talking about the US military men and women. I am talking about those who were fighting on this day hundreds of years ago. I am talking about George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. The hardest thing I have to decide is what we will eat for the day or whether the kids can go outside between 2 and 5pm. What if I had to forsake all and make the hard decision to break from all that was home once. When we think of Independence Day, I am reminded of my Daddy, granddaddy, husband and brother who have all served. I am reminded that we are a free nation, but what is freedom if you are still held bondage by your sin. I pray that today and everyday I am reminded of those who have died and gone to hell for not repenting and following Christ. I pray that as we all approach this 4th of July that we not only remember the independence that was formed for the United States of America on July 4, 1776 but also remember our Lord who hung on a cross so many years ago so that we could be free from sin and live forever with Him. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Founding Fathers! And thank you American Soldier!
