Memorial Day
Memorial Day has come and almost gone. We were able to grill and have some soldiers from Christopher's floor that he works with over for lunch and dinner. We had a good time getting to know each other and I got my baby fill for a while. But as the day comes to an end, I am reminded of why the day is here. Recently on Randolph AFB, an airmen was lost. I was unable to attend the service but I prayed for the family that day. I sometimes wonder if I will lose Christopher this way or not, but I am confident in God's grace and sovereignty. If it is his time to go then God will call him home whether he is here with me and the kids or he is thousands of miles away in Afghanistan. As I start to prepare for our first deployment, I am reminded of the ones that have gone before and have paid the ultimate sacrifice and I pray that they had a saving knowledge of Christ. I pray that today all soldiers would feel the presence of the Lord and will come to know Him more. I thank each and every one of you who have lost loved ones to war. I thank each and every family member who is experiencing seperation from their loved ones. Thank you for the missed birthdays and holidays. Thank you for the tears and the tough times that you have endured for the rights that we take for granted. Thank you and deepest gratitude from one Army wife and to YOU!
